It turns out that one of the great perks of being in Bocas for so much time is that we have managed to amass a great big circle of friends. For the first time in the trip we have other cruisers all around us that can give advice, swap stories and commiserate with boat problems and frustrations. It’s also fascinating to learn what other skills and interests our fellow sailors have.
Our friend Jane Stanbury from the boat Eliza is a potter and has been practising her craft for over 15 years. Once she had seen some of the graphical work that I do under the guise of Gumption (www.gumption-designs.com) she asked if I could help her with promotional work for her first show in Bocas.
James and I took countless photos, set up a facebook page for her and helped to install the work at the show. It was a tremendous success and she has the next show booked in already.
