So, in typical sailor fashion, after meticulous planning of our Fiji to New Zealand passage, making sure we had extra crew on board and timing our departure just right in terms of weather, it ended up being really very straightforward and simply pleasant for those on board.

Which just goes to show that if you keep flexibility in your plans and wait for the right time you can do this run very easily without putting any extra stress on either boat or crew.

The 1,100 mile trip took just over 8 days and the strongest wind seen was a few gusts of 25kts, nothing bad at all. Here is a shot of some of the calm beauty of the sea when all is still and the sky becomes the water.
