Three and a half years at sea hasn’t actually been particularly hard on us so far, I think we’re looking ok. However, the same can’t be said of our galley. All our pots and pans were old, second, third and fourth hand when we left and, by the time we arrived in New Zealand, most of them had lost their handles. The same is true of our old Plastimo stove, which was on board when we bought the boat. The stove had got to the point of actually being rather unsafe as it was proving a bit too easy for Rocket to turn the knobs.

So, we’ve upgraded, taking advantage of the post Christmas sales for getting a whole new batch of pots and pans on board. We’ve also installed a new stove, which has many more gas safety features to make sure that those wandering little hands can’t cause any disasters on board.

All shiny and new, and more efficient too!
