• 12th / 13th November - 26th November 2014
Nick Davion and Rory Fogerty, from England and Ireland respectively, have both settled in Auckland and were looking for passages to crew on to get them back out on the water. The Fiji to New Zealand run can be rough at times so Jess and Rocket jumped ship and flew whilst James sailed down with these two lovely chaps. In the end it was a smooth journey we made the whole thing more enjoyable for everyone. Cheers guys!
• 7th May - 25th September 2014
Chris Ferguson, aka 'uncle Chris' to Rocket, jumped ship from the boat he crossed the Pacific on and joined us in Hiva Oa in the Marquesas. He's fantastic with Rocket, a keen sailor and a pretty good cook as well. Chris left us in Fiji to return to his native California. We already miss him as he was a complete pleasure to have onboard and became a great friend. He was wonderful with our little girl and I'm sure she'll always remember him.
• 7th May - 5th June 2014
Maleko Dawnchild joined us in Hiva Oa for a short while to act as extra help for longer passages now that we have a baby. He did the run from the Marquesas to the Tuamotus and left us in Fakarava to continue his travels.
• 10th March - 26th April 2014
Gillian Wain met us by chance last year in Costa Rica. When we mentioned crossing the Pacific with our baby (who was only a bump at the time) she jumped at the chance to join us. Having her on board as extra crew was planned to make the long stretch from Mexico to the Marquesas much easier.
• 9th - 11th May 2013:
Attila Berry, our friend from s/v Bettie who we've known for over a year now needed a bed for a few nights while her then boyfriend, now husband, Vlad, sailed their boat single-handed up the coast. We turned up in Zihuatanejo at just the right time to help out and save her from a dull hotel.
• 28th January - 14th February 2013:
'Blomi' Andreas Bloemer, our original stowaway, returned to stay for another 2 weeks while we were in Panama City and escaped to the islands of Taboga and Otoque with us. Sadly, we must report that he didn't catch a single fish while he was with us - oh the shame!
• 25th - 28th January 2013:
Laurie, Damon and Dylan Jones were not only our favourite people to hang out with in Panama, they were also kind enough to help us and linehandle for us through the Panama Canal. Which is really just as well as they had done it once before so could calm our jittery nerves!
• 30th Oct - 1st November + 7th November 2012:
Jess, Tony and Basil Riot Edwards got stuck with us at the Panamanian border for 5 hours on the way back from our visa run. We passed the time swapping travelling stories and, when it looked as though we wouldn't get back to Bocas before dark, we were able to help out as there is always room on board for some friends in need. They were fantastic company and we hope to bump into them again somewhere.
• 12th - 24th September 2012:
Mary and Don Brown, James's mum and her husband, flew to meet us in Bocas del Toro. We showed them our favourite haunts, learnt the art of night fish watching and tried not to kill Mary with the heat and all the chilis.
• 18th - 30th August 2012:
Becky Barber - Sharp and Toby Sharp, AKA my sis and her hubby, came to stay and brought the good weather with them. We visited 5 different islands, saw all sorts of creatures and of course had that memorable Rana Azul day.
• 1st - 24th July 2012:
Ish Kundawala, James's long-term travelling partner in crime, has bounced onto the boat with her infectious laughter and lust for dancing. Needless to say we have given up sleep...
• 17th - 29th June 2012:
Mary Hoffman and Stephen Barber, aka Jess's parents, came onboard in Bocas del Toro, Panama. We found them some dolphins, showed them some frogs, made them their first proper rum drinks and then, all too soon, bade them farewell back to the UK.
• 16th - 19th March 2012:
Roger Lloyd-Mostyn, James's dad, came to stay with us in the British Virgin Islands as a detour from his holiday in Florida. We packed a lot into 3 days including some unspoilt anchorages, whale and ray spotting and some fantastic rum cocktails.
• 25th - 28th February 2012:
Chris and Jane Lloyd-Mostyn, although not technically staying on the boat anyone who sails her counts as a stowaway :) We had a lovely time with them sailing around St Kitts and making a visit to Nevis.
• 1st December 2011 - 7th February 2012:
Lisanna Tammsalu and Paul Fjelrad, another sailing couple who've wanted to cross the Atlantic for some time.
• 7th - 13th October 2011:
Andy Grant and Anna Hughes, our buddies from Trysail, crossed the Bay of Biscay with us on our first leg of the trip from Mylor to Vigo. Never a dull nightwatch with those two...
• 20th - 29th September 2011:
'Blomi' Andreas Bloemer, our first boat guest, who James sailed with in the Caribbean and crossed Mexico on horseback with.
