Nothing but gratitude today as we mark 1 year since we arrived into Singapore. They offered us safe harbour when all borders were closed due to covid. It’s a strange existence we have here as it’s not easy being on an indefinite “not to land” notice, which to be clear means we have no visa. We cannot walk down the street, go to shops or explore the wonders of Singapore as we are limited to the marina premises and few anchorages. Tricky and quite a challenge with 3 young and active children. But we are far luckier than so many cruising sailors stuck in dire circumstances in these unprecedented times and we have the stability of our floating home and the great fortune to have been at the receiving end of so much kindness, compassion and generosity from the cruisers, locals, staff and officials that we’ve dealt with here.
